Mermaids, sirens… The movie “Pirates of the Caribbean” comes to mind … Johnny Depp. Sigh. Yeah, right. It’s not going to happen. But what is going to happen is a new blog hop as always organized by Kathy @ I Am A Reader Not A Writer this time helped by Amber @ The Musings of ALMYBNENR. It’s called Under The Sea Hop and runs between 09/14 and 09/20 with the winner announcement on 09/21. As the title suggests this hop features books with mermaids, sirens, selkies, divers, swimming boating, dolphins, etc.
Searching for related materials, two books peaked my interest:
They are part of a YA mermaid series with a third and final book coming out next year. Based on the reviews on Amazon and GR these books are promising.

If Dory were real (from Finding Nemo), she’d be my favorite sea creature. If mermaids were real, Ariel (from The Little Mermaid) would be my favorite. But since they aren’t I’d have to say baby seals. They’re so, so cute. Not so much when they’re older and lose the white fuzz, but when they’re babies, they’re beyond adorable.

I’ve been following you for a while now. And I think my favorite sea creature is the octopus. Scientist say that it is probably the smartest sea creature – dolphins are more social but not actually as great a problem solver as the octopus. I LOVE watching anything that deals with the ocean on the Discovery Channel! And I love reading anything under the sea.
I was fortunate enough to grow up just two blocks from the Atlantic ocean <3

I've seen sharks, dolphins, manta rays, and all sorts of amazing creatures. But, I always loved the sweet, gentle and somewhat homely sea cow or manatee! They look ungainly and sluggish, but they are actually very smart – similar to dolphins – and they love to hang around marinas and such. When I was a kid, I could spend hours perched over the edge of a dock watching them. <3

I adore dolphins! I live in the Algarve which is right on the south coast of Portugal where there are quite a lot of them beautiful creatures. A few years ago I finally went on a boat ride to go and see them… WOW, it was such an amazing experience. They were so friendly and playful. I could have stayed there all week!

I don’t know that I have a favorite sea world creature but I always loved the jellyfish exhibit at the aquarium. They’re beautiful creatures. I loved the dolphins in the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy books. They tried to warn the humans of the destruction of earth but we didn’t listen.
I think my favorite sea world creature would have to be the manatees, there just something about them that tug on my heart strings
