Charity Hopping Around the World Giveaway Hop-DAY 1

30 Mar

There is one very dear sporting event I’m proud being part of–Pat’s Run. Not only was Pat Tilman the NFL player-turned-U.S. Army Ranger an ASU alumnus, but his generous spirit, his legacy keeps on living giving hope to many veterans and their families into a better day, a better life. Last year my sister and her husband traveled all the way from Germany to join me in Pat’s Run. This year, my son Patrick will be my running buddy and I’m beyond ecstatic we’ll do it together.

You’ll ask what has Pat’s Run to do with the next giveaway? Well, as the name states Charity Hopping Around the World is about charities and promoting them. This blog hop is as always organized by Kathy @ I’m A Reader Not A Writer and co-hosted by Reading Away the Days and Reading a Little Bit of Everything. Thank you ladies for your hard work!

I’m excited about this hop because it allows me to talk about my favorite charity which is the Pat Tillman Foundation.

In 2002, Pat Tillman proudly put his NFL career with the Arizona Cardinals on hold to serve his country. This decision was just one of many he made over the course of his lifetime to help others and serve a cause greater than his own self-interest.

Following Pat’s death in 2004, while serving with the U.S. Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment in Afghanistan, his family and friends established the Pat Tillman Foundation.

The mission of the Pat Tillman Foundation is to invest in military veterans and their spouses through educational scholarships; building a diverse community of leaders committed to service to others.

I always had a soft spot for all-things army and since my newest release A World Apart is dedicated to all men and women in uniform it only makes sense to offer up for grabs an e-copy of it. I also have a hard copy of Boots On The Ground By Dusk written by Pat’s mother, Mary Tillman.
