Giveaway Hop–Best of 2011

26 Dec

If you landed here it means you really have lots of patience. And you love to read. And you are persistent. Yeah, you. I’m talking about you. Thanks for stopping by. I know I’m at # 67  on the Giveaway Hop Best of 2011. And for you to make it down the list of blogs all the way here it means something. Your reward: an e-copy of either my debut novel Hidden Heart or my newest release called A World Apart . The winners will be announced here on January 1st 2012.

I know we are supposed to pick our favorite book for 2011, but I’m going to take it to the next level and pick the best book turned movie. “Gone with the Wind” that is, the best classic book and movie of all times. I have to say I’ve seen the movie at least 10-15 times and I never get tired of it. Clark Gable—handsome, devilish, sexy—and Vivien Leigh—sweet powerhouse, stunning, stubborn—are electrifying and the chemistry between them is almost palpable. I can’t think of anyone else playing their roles and no one ever would be able to fill their shoes. How can a movie be so powerful and so convincing?
I watched it again two nights ago. At the end of it I felt nostalgic and sad, as if not only did Rhett walk out of Scarlett’s life, but he gave up on love. And no one should ever give up on love. It’s what makes us grow, and gives us a reason to live, it’s why a man and a woman belong together, it’s why we feel butterflies in our belly…
I then remembered about Alexandra Ripley’s book “Scarlett” and the TV series with the same name made sometime in the 90’s and had a desperate need to continue watching the love story, as to confirm happy ending does exist after all. I just finished seeing it and I feel so much better. Joanna Whalley and Timothy Dalton are maybe not the best pick, but I grew fond of them throughout the movie. If you haven’t seen it, I encourage you to find it and watch it, it’s worth it if you are an incurable romantic like me.
Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler’s love story is better than any love story out there, be it a book, a movie, a song or a screenplay. Better than Romeo and Juliet, better than Cesar and Cleopatra, better than Dante and Beatriz. It’s timeless and compared to any of the love stories it has a happy ending. And where is happy ending, there is hope.

My hope is that you will enter the giveaway contest below and you will give my heroes a chance to tell their stories.

Happy Holidays!

Omg i was speechless! But deep down i was thinking it was going to be alessandro or cristian and hoping if it had to be either that it be cristian lol and just the love between alessandro and tessa *sigh theyre so cute together 🙂 and i almost cried when tessa told alessandro to leave after the incident with daniel, i felt so sorry for the both of them! All in all i just loved hidden heart 🙂
