Books To Movies Giveaway Hop

26 Aug
It’s been a long time since I’ve done one of these blog hops. Today I have the pleasure of introducing you to the Books to Movies Giveaway Hop which runs from August 27th to September 3rd with the winner announcement on September 4th. This hop is hosted by Bookhounds I Am A Reader, Not A Writer and features books that have been made into movies or TV shows. Thank you, Mary and Kathy for your hard work to gather all these bloggers and organize this fun event.
Books to movies August (2)
I’ve recently started to watch The White Queen (on Starz) and got hooked immediately. If you are a fan of the series The Tudors or Camelot this series is for you.  Brother turns on brother to win the ultimate prize, the throne, in this dazzling account of the wars of the Plantagenets. They ruled before the Tudors, and now Philippa Gregory brings them to life through the dramatic and intimate stories of the secret players: the indomitable women.

The White Queen
tells the story of Elizabeth Woodville, a woman of extraordinary beauty and ambition, who secretly marries the newly crowned boy king. While Elizabeth rises to the demands of her exalted position and fights for the success of her family, her two sons become the central figures in a famous unsolved mystery that has confounded historians for centuries: the lost princes in the Tower of London. Philippa Gregory brings the artistry and intellect of a master writer and storyteller to a new era in history and begins what is sure to be another bestselling classic series from this beloved author.
So, my prize for this giveaway is one e-copy of The White Queen by Philippa Gregory.
For your chance to win all you have to do is FOLLOW THIS BLOG BY EMAIL by clicking on the button to the right called “Sign me up!” (atop all images) and leave your answer to the question: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE BOOK TURNED TO MOVIE?
My fave book made into a movie is Gone With The Wind. *Sigh* Don’t we all need a Rhett Butler in our lives, ladies? 🙂

Hmm, this is hard one. I usually either don’t realize it was once a book or discover it way later! LOL. I liked Gone With the Wind, Hunger Games, I know there are others but I can’t think of it.

Totally agree with you in that GWTW is the best book to movie.
Hey have you read this amazing book
Rhett Butler’s People by Donald McCaig (Nov 6 2007).
Just finished and it is a real page turner.
Also, Philippa Gregory. is a quality writer too.

      Hi Dayle,

so good to see you stopping by again. Yes, I did read Rhett Butler’s People. It was an interesting account of finding out how the two of them met from Rhett’s perspective. Nevertheless it left me wanting more but we all know that whatever happened to them Margaret Mitchell never finished. Hope you had a great summer! ❤

Tough question! Mine would have to be the entire Harry Potter series. The special effects that were put into those movies were phenomenal!

Hmmm…difficult question. If I read the book first, I’m usually unhappy with the movie. The best that I can think of is “To Kill a Mockingbird”. Gregory Peck’s performance was so fantastic that I can’t read the book without seeing him and hearing his voice.
