When her friend vanishes from a cruise ship, reporter Darcy St. James isn’t satisfied with their explanation that she simply left her job of her own accord. Something isn’t lining up, and Darcy believes the only way to find the truth is to put herself in Abby’s position. Within days, Darcy learns her friend wasn’t the only person to disappear mysteriously. Last summer, a woman vanished under almost identical circumstances.
Gage McKenna has taken a summer-long stint leading adventure excursions for the passengers of various cruise lines that dock for a few days of sightseeing. He’s surprised to find Darcy working aboard one of the ships, investigating a troubling report. Something sinister is going on and the deeper they dig the more Gage fears they’ve only discovered the tip of the iceberg.

I try to mix up a little when I sign up for book tours, either guest posts, character interview or author interview. Curious about Dani’s journey into writing and publishing, today I decided to interview her.

Dani, thank you so very much for stopping by. My first question is:

Dani, I’m really happy to introduce you and your work to my followers. Congrats on your newest release Stranded, book 3 in the Alaskan Courage Series. Where do you get your inspiration for your stories?

Thanks so much. I really appreciate you hosting me.

What can you tell us about your latest release Stranded?

When Her Friend Goes Missing,
Every Minute Counts

Darcy St. James returns to Alaska to join a journalist friend undercover on the trail of a big story. But when Darcy arrives, she finds her friend has disappeared. Troubled by the cruise ship’s vague explanation, Darcy uses her cover as a travel reporter to investigate further.

The last person Gage McKenna expects to see during his summer aboard a cruise ship leading adventure excursions is Darcy. And in typical Darcy fashion, she’s digging up more trouble.

He’d love to just forget her–but something won’t let him. And he can’t help but worry about her as they are heading into more remote regions of Alaska and eventually into foreign waters. Something sinister is going on, and the deeper they push, the more Gage fears they’ve only discovered the tip of the iceberg.

How did you celebrate the sale of your first book?

I went out to dinner with my family. After I stopped screaming for joy, of course 🙂

Can you see yourself in any of your characters? Which one and why?

Bailey Craig (the heroine in my debut novel Submerged) and I share a similar past. We both looked for acceptance in the wrong places, and we were both saved and changed by God’s amazing grace.

What do you do to promote your books?

I look for ways to connect with my readers. I’m active on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Goodreads.

With several published novels under your belt, how do you react to a bad review?

I don’t read them.

What’s one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?

Write. I know it sounds overly simple, but so many people say they’d like to write a novel, few actually do. Sitting down day after day to write is what matters. Keep at it. Keep pursing your dream.

What are your interests outside of writing?

I love reading, traveling and spending time outdoors.
