30 May

This is it! BORN IN SIN no longer belongs to me, but  was officially released today May 30th 2013.

BIS-web COVER

To celebrate there are a few places you can stop by and enjoy the fun:

1. On Facebook for the virtual party starting at 8am AZ time.

2. At A Diary of a Book Addict for covers reveal for both books in the Dacian Legends Born In Vengeance and Born In Sin and a giveaway for both books.

3. At Rambling from A Chaotic Mind for a 4star review posted by Pam. She calls BORN IN SIN “An amazing story told entirely from Zyraxes point of view, which is unusual for a historical romance. I actually enjoyed the man’s view for a change as you get to see why he loves her and what he feels when he thinks she is lost to him.” For her full review go here.

4. At TiffyFit’s Reading Corner for another excellent review and giveaway. Tiffany calls BORN IN SIN, “If you like books on early Roman times, focusing on the wars and skirmishes, seeing flashbacks to the time that was, and enjoy some really great bloody battle scenes, Dacian Legends is for you!” For her full review go here. And don’t forget to enter the giveaway while at her site.

A bouchet of stars for Born In Vengeance and Born In Sin

22 May

I’m on the road! For three days I’ll be hosted by Orchita @ If The Book Fits talking books. Thank you, Orchita, for being such a great host!

What has Orchita planned?

Well, for the first day we’ll read her review for BORN IN VENGEANCE (Dacian Legends, Book #1) previously published with the title I Was Here–Before You Came and see how she liked it. In a few words she finds it: “5-stars, and those of you who have followed my reviews and ratings on goodreads KNOW how rare that is of late. Read it, rate it, tell your friends to read it, because it’s one of the best non-modern novels I’ve read as of late.” For the whole review click here.

Tomorrow will spend time reading her review of BORN IN SIN (Dacian Legends, #2) coming out May 30th. She calls it, “One of the most major factors that can make or break a historical (in my opinion) is its authenticity. Like with Born in Vengeance, Cami gets it right.” Find the full review here.

And Friday I will answer to the question: “What was it about that time period that drew your attention?” Sounds fun? I hope so.

Oh, and before I forget, remember to enter the rafflecopter on her blog associated with the reviews for your chance to win e-copies of both BORN IN VENGEANCE and BORN IN SIN.

Happy reading!

The Next Big Thing Book Hop

6 Apr

Thanks to the fabulous author of Shadows Of The Past Carmen Stefanescu I was nominated to participate in the Next Big Thing Book Hop. What does it mean? Well aside from giving readers an insight in my newest release it introduces them to other authors I chose to recommend for this award.

So here the questions and my answers:

  1.  What is the working title of your book?

BORN IN SIN (I’m looking for reviewers; those of you interested in reviewing it drop me an email at cami[dot]skiba[at]gmail[dot]com)

BIS-final

  1. Where did the idea come from for the book?

Fascinated by the birth of the Romanian nation I wanted to give it a romantic spin with untold legends of unknown heroes.

  1. What genre does your book fall under?

Ancient history with a strong romance flavor.

  1. What actors would you choose to play the part of your characters in a movie rendition?

Stephen Amell (Green Arrow) embodies Zyraxes perfectly, the main hero. For Oriana, the main heroine, Julianne Hough would be my pick. She’d bring to the screen innocence, humility and beauty, qualities much needed for Oriana’s role.

  1. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Summoned to aid Oriana’s father in the war against two powerful enemies—one of them Oriana’s savage husband—Zyraxes proves himself worthy of noble titles and coin when all he really wants is her.

  1. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

Self-published.

  1. How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript?

I needed a lot of research in the ancient history so it took me a good 6 months.

  1. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

“Spartacus, The Gladiator” by Ben Kane or “The Forgotten Legion” also by Ben Kane. Simon Scarrow’s “Eagle” series.

  1. Who or what inspired you to write this book?

This is the second book in a series of 5. The first story called “I Was Here—Before You Came” was inspired by the late Andy Whitfield in the Starz TV series “Spartacus—Blood and Sand.” Andy’s death came as a shock to the entire world. Here he was a wonderful father and husband, in the peak of his career and cancer nestled in his body unwelcomed and unwanted, soon to claim his life. I needed something to celebrate Andy’s legacy not only through the movies he left behind, but as a book hero as well.

  1. What else about the book might pique the reader’s interest?

Anyone who watched Starz series Spartacus and fell in love with the main characters will absolutely love Born In Sin. It’s gritty, fast-paced, intriguing and has heroes to die for. It depicts a world long gone when surviving wasn’t always welcomed and one’s life was as cheap as a bag of flour.
