Young Adult Giveaway Hop 01/29 – 02/04/2013

28 Jan

Up until a few years ago I don’t recall reading novels in the young adult genre. The Harry Potter and Twilight of the publishing industry didn’t make it on my bookshelf, not because I had something against them, but because well … I had long passed that stage of my life (which I rather refuse to remember it) and because what could they possible have experienced for me to want to know about them, huh?

Well, I was wrong. Here and now mea culpa for being so … shallow. The truth is YA is one of my fav genres now, thanks to quite a few authors whose novels made me fall in love with it. In fact I began writing in this genre myself and I loooove it. Since I’ve recently given away books written by Sherry Gammon and Cindy C Bennett (which are by far my fav authors for this genre) I chose for today’s giveaway YOUNG ADULT HOP Cambria Hebert’s Masquerade. And to make it even more fun I’ll add my own historical YA short story called I Was Here–Before You Came.

Thankful For Books Giveaway Hop

7 Nov

What nourishes your soul or imagination? What makes you dream? For me books, movies and music are constant companions. The sun shining in a child’s eyes, the breeze rustling through leaves and the water cascading over rocks. It’s the love I offer and the love I receive.

And for all of that and more I’m grateful. And since today we celebrate books with the Thankful For Books Giveaway Hop organized by Kathy @ I’m A Reader Not A Writer, helped by Tristi @ Tristi Pinkston I decided what better way to show my appreciation than to give my own books some TLC.

On 11/14 I will announce three winners  (US ONLY) as following:

Two bookmarks and one autographed paperback of my debut novel Hidden Heart (click on the cover for blurb and Goodreads rating)

It’s A Love Thing–officially released!

2 Jun

It is with great pleasure that I announce the release of the summer anthology It’s A Love Thing, a compilation of 8 YA stories published by Prose By Design. Among them my historical YA short story called I Was Here–Before You Came.

BLURB:

Legend has it … centuries after Spartacus another hero is born—Ilias, the bastard son of King Decebalus. Thirsty for revenge and eager to unshackle the Roman oppression, Ilias’ obsession to fulfill his oath has no bounds, even if that means kidnapping Nerva, the beloved daughter of Emperor Traianus. What he doesn’t know is his own heart threatens to betray his conscience. What will prevail: his mind or his heart?

Writing Ilias’ story taught me a few things: I am the only one limiting myself. I can reach places I dream of and make them mine. I can write anything I set my mind to. I can.

Although the story goes back over 2000 years, the birth of the Romanian nation is a timeless tale, needed be told and celebrated for generations to come.  I added a new hero to my long list of favorite characters–Ilias, the bastard son of King Decebalus. He is the last Dacian King before the Roman conquest. Ilias is only 22 years old and yet he’s brave, fearless and destined to make history.

It was really fun and easy to work with him, in fact it took me only ten days to get his story jotted down.

And because it’s such a happy day I’m giving away one e-copy of the story and once e-copy of the whole anthology.

All you have to do to win is leave a comment here on this post answering the question:

Who’s son is Ilias?

A week from now, on 06/09 I’ll count all comments and use random.org to pick the winners. Don’t forget to leave your email address. Good luck everyone!
