Books To Movies Giveaway Hop

26 Aug
It’s been a long time since I’ve done one of these blog hops. Today I have the pleasure of introducing you to the Books to Movies Giveaway Hop which runs from August 27th to September 3rd with the winner announcement on September 4th. This hop is hosted by Bookhounds I Am A Reader, Not A Writer and features books that have been made into movies or TV shows. Thank you, Mary and Kathy for your hard work to gather all these bloggers and organize this fun event.
Books to movies August (2)
I’ve recently started to watch The White Queen (on Starz) and got hooked immediately. If you are a fan of the series The Tudors or Camelot this series is for you.  Brother turns on brother to win the ultimate prize, the throne, in this dazzling account of the wars of the Plantagenets. They ruled before the Tudors, and now Philippa Gregory brings them to life through the dramatic and intimate stories of the secret players: the indomitable women.

The White Queen
tells the story of Elizabeth Woodville, a woman of extraordinary beauty and ambition, who secretly marries the newly crowned boy king. While Elizabeth rises to the demands of her exalted position and fights for the success of her family, her two sons become the central figures in a famous unsolved mystery that has confounded historians for centuries: the lost princes in the Tower of London. Philippa Gregory brings the artistry and intellect of a master writer and storyteller to a new era in history and begins what is sure to be another bestselling classic series from this beloved author.
So, my prize for this giveaway is one e-copy of The White Queen by Philippa Gregory.

My fave book made into a movie is Gone With The Wind. *Sigh* Don’t we all need a Rhett Butler in our lives, ladies? 🙂

Breaking record

2 Jul

Last time I had BORN IN VENGEANCE free on Amazon I hit a record. My Amazon Best Sellers Rank was: #949 Free in Kindle Store  and #55 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Literature & Fiction > Genre Fiction > Romance > Historical Romance.

Let me tell you a secret: today and tomorrow 07/02-03 the book is free on Amazon. If you didn’t download it last time I encourage you to do it now. Why?

Well, for a few reasons:

1. I wrote it.

2. It’s a quick fantastic read (Of course it’t fantastic because I wrote it, right? 🙂 )

3. If you are missing Spartacus as I do after Starz ended it’s production last year this is your chance to meet new heroes as brave, fearless, handsome, driven, flawed, broken as the Spartacus’s cast.

4. It’s free. With a touch of a button it will land in your e-library. No mess, no hassle.

5. Because it will help me break my own record. It will help my book find new homes in your heart, in your library.

Are these reasons enough? I hope so. And I hope I managed to convince you to download BORN IN VENGEANCE. I promise, you won’t regret it.

Happy reading!

The Next Big Thing Book Hop

6 Apr

Thanks to the fabulous author of Shadows Of The Past Carmen Stefanescu I was nominated to participate in the Next Big Thing Book Hop. What does it mean? Well aside from giving readers an insight in my newest release it introduces them to other authors I chose to recommend for this award.

So here the questions and my answers:

  1.  What is the working title of your book?

BORN IN SIN (I’m looking for reviewers; those of you interested in reviewing it drop me an email at cami[dot]skiba[at]gmail[dot]com)

  1. Where did the idea come from for the book?

Fascinated by the birth of the Romanian nation I wanted to give it a romantic spin with untold legends of unknown heroes.

  1. What genre does your book fall under?

Ancient history with a strong romance flavor.

  1. What actors would you choose to play the part of your characters in a movie rendition?

Stephen Amell (Green Arrow) embodies Zyraxes perfectly, the main hero. For Oriana, the main heroine, Julianne Hough would be my pick. She’d bring to the screen innocence, humility and beauty, qualities much needed for Oriana’s role.

  1. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

Summoned to aid Oriana’s father in the war against two powerful enemies—one of them Oriana’s savage husband—Zyraxes proves himself worthy of noble titles and coin when all he really wants is her.

  1. Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency?

  1. How long did it take you to write the first draft of the manuscript?

I needed a lot of research in the ancient history so it took me a good 6 months.

  1. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?

“Spartacus, The Gladiator” by Ben Kane or “The Forgotten Legion” also by Ben Kane. Simon Scarrow’s “Eagle” series.

  1. Who or what inspired you to write this book?

This is the second book in a series of 5. The first story called “I Was Here—Before You Came” was inspired by the late Andy Whitfield in the Starz TV series “Spartacus—Blood and Sand.” Andy’s death came as a shock to the entire world. Here he was a wonderful father and husband, in the peak of his career and cancer nestled in his body unwelcomed and unwanted, soon to claim his life. I needed something to celebrate Andy’s legacy not only through the movies he left behind, but as a book hero as well.

  1. What else about the book might pique the reader’s interest?

Anyone who watched Starz series Spartacus and fell in love with the main characters will absolutely love Born In Sin. It’s gritty, fast-paced, intriguing and has heroes to die for. It depicts a world long gone when surviving wasn’t always welcomed and one’s life was as cheap as a bag of flour.

Now please allow me to introduce you to 3 amazing authors I have the honor to know up close and personal, as they are part of the recently created Desert Muses Author Club.
